BRIGADES & VOLUNTEERS
We host short-term BRIGADES throughout the year; organized groups representing organizations, families, friends, schools and churches who are interested in sharing their skills and knowledge. Brigades are a great opportunity to learn firsthand about our work while contributing and building relationships in a meaningful way. We also offer opportunities for individual volunteers.
Brigades and volunteers have built and painted schools, helped build and maintain our facility at NicaPhoto, planted trees and worked in our garden, led workshops for staff and students, trained teachers, taught English, dance, photography and organized physical education and athletic activities.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
NicaPhoto will work with you to design a custom experience for your group, based on your members’ shared interests and preferences. In addition to learning about our work and volunteering with our community, we will happily arrange fun and interesting excursions to places of interest around Nicaragua, centered around a theme you choose (see below).
Day 1 – Arrival and travel to NicaPhoto site
• Meet NicaPhoto team at Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport, Managua
• Private shuttle to Nagarote, Leon Department (~1hr)
• Check-in to local hotel
• Welcome and tour of NicaPhoto
• Dinner at NicaPhoto by our incredible kitchen team*
Day 2 - NicaPhoto
• Breakfast at hotel or NicaPhoto
• AM: Presentations about our work, themed activities
• Lunch
• PM: Tour and activities in the local community
• Dinner
Day 3 – NicaPhoto
• Breakfast at hotel or NicaPhoto
• AM: Themed activities at NicaPhoto
• Lunch
• PM: Local activities or travel to excursion
Day 4 – Themed activities at NicaPhoto or excursions/outings
Day 5 - Excursions/outings (beaches, nature preserves, artisan markets, surfing, museums, volcano hiking, sampling local products, boat tours, and more!)

*Since Nicaragua is a developing country, we may be unable to accommodate certain dietary restrictions or guarantee allergen-free meals. Please let us know early in the planning process if anyone in your group requires special dietary considerations and we will do our best to work with you.
