NicaPhoto is a project for sustainable community development and although education is our primary focus, we have also worked with various organizations and institutions to support the community. Through community workshops, visiting volunteers, food provision and disaster relief assistance, NicaPhoto is changing not only the lives of the children of Nagarote, but supporting the community as a whole.

NicaPhoto has acted as a community partner working with both Nicaraguan Institutions including the Mayors’ Office of Nagarote, the Ministry of Education (MINED),and the Health Center (MINSA) as well as various US groups to build an elementary school, a playground, organic garden and private residences throughout town. These groups include: Carver Foundation, Builders Beyond Borders, Kids Helping Kids, Westport Rotary and a number of other groups of family and friends.

In 2023, NicaPhoto again partnered with two incredible organizations to bring additional resources to the community of Nagarote. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity's Healthy Floors Initiative and Holcim's contribution on cement, 90 families in Nagarote had dirt floors replaced with floors of concrete.
