NicaPhoto's focus is on educational support, as we believe the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty is through education.

We work primarily with families from the barrio of Sonrisa de Dios (Smile of God), one of the poorest and most deprived barrios in Nagarote, Nicaragua.

Our approach is holistic in nature and our focus is on the healthy development of the whole child. We provide tutoring and reinforcement with an emphasize on Spanish and Math. We work with a psychologist, incorporate the arts and programs in health and personal development.

Our programing includes girls & boys groups, martial arts, robotics, visual arts, photography, dance and a chorus.  Also provided is a hot, nutritious lunch, as food security and malnutrition are common issues among our families.
